Five Credits ("the app") is an offline exam-prep app for WAEC, NECO and JAMB candidates. This page explains what happens — and what does not happen — to your data when you use it.
We do not operate any account system, and the app works fully offline regardless of anything below. Specifically:
The app keeps a local, on-device database of your progress (topics completed, question attempts, scores) so it can show you statistics and recommend what to revise next. This data is used only to power features inside the app itself.
Some screens let you manually export your progress (for example, as a CSV or JSON file) using your device's native Share sheet. If you use this feature, you choose where that file goes — for example, your own email or notes app. We never do this automatically, and we never see the exported file ourselves.
You can import additional content packs from a .zip file you choose yourself. This is a local file-import operation — the app reads the file you selected from your device; it does not upload anything.
Settings → Analytics has a "Share anonymous usage stats" toggle. It is off by default — nothing described here happens unless you turn it on yourself.
If you turn it on, the app forwards a copy of the same anonymous, on-device usage events it already keeps locally (for example: a lesson was opened, a quiz was completed and its score, a mock exam was started) to PostHog, an analytics service we use to see which lessons and questions need improvement. These events are tied to a random identifier generated on your device, not to your name, email, or any other identifying information — we have no way to know who you are from this data.
Because the app is built to work fully offline, these events are queued on your device and only sent when your device happens to have an internet connection — turning the setting on or off never changes whether any learning feature works, on or offline. You can turn the setting off at any time, which stops any further events from being sent (events already sent before that point cannot be recalled).
Five Credits does not display ads and does not use any advertising SDK or advertising identifier. If this changes in a future update, we will update this policy before that update ships, describe clearly what data any advertising partner collects, and — where Apple's or Google's platform rules require it — ask for your permission first (for example, via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt).
Five Credits is built for SS3 secondary-school students preparing for WAEC/NECO/JAMB, and is not directed at or marketed to young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, since the app does not collect personal information at all.
If we change what data the app collects — most notably if we introduce advertising — we will update this page and the "Privacy Policy" link inside the app's Settings screen before that change ships.
